Cyclea barbata known in Indonesia as "Cincau hijau". This plant is often found in open areas or forest edge shrubs. But there also are kept creeping in hedgerows. This plant grows well in areas that have a height of less than 1000 meters above sea level.
This plant got the name "Cincau" because the substance contained in it is the main ingredient in the manufacture of cincau (grass jelly). Cincau is a gel derived from soaking the leaves (or other organs) of certain plants in water. Gels formed by the leaves of plants contain carbohydrates that can bind water molecules.

From some research that has been done on this plant, was able to treat high blood pressure disease. A total of 5 grams of crushed leaves of this plant with 150 cc of boiled water and then squeezed. Juice was given to patients to drink two times a day. As a result, patients experience decreased blood pressure significantly. A patient aged 70 years and his blood pressure reached 215mm/120mm decreasing blood pressure became 160mm/100mm within one month after taking Cyclea barbata.
