So many uses as a medicinal plant. In Indonesia, this plant is one plant that has an important role in traditional medicine industry. This is proven by the demand for crude fennel continues to increase.

This plant is known by the scientific name Foeniculum vulgare Mill. Fennel plant is an annual herbaceous plant of the family Umbelliferae. Height can reach 1-2 m with a lot of branches. Leaf-like twigs, are round, small and long with a length of 3 cm. Fennel flowers yellow umbrella to form a large collection. In one umbrella there are 15-40small umbrella, umbrella stem length 1-6 cm. Oblong-shaped flowers with a length of 3.5 to 4 cm. Each tube has a seed oil whichcriss-cross. When young, the beans are green fennel then brownishwhen old.


These herbs have many benefits that can be taken, ranging fromroots, leaves, stems, and seeds. Fennel leaf useful as a diuretic andencourages transpiration. The roots of plants useful as a cough medicine, laxatives, and abdominal pain after childbirth.

Fennel contains essential oils such as limonina the scent, while flavonoida nutritious substances to heal inflammation. Essential oils can also kill the microbes. The fruit contains oil fly (anetol, pinen,felandren, dipenten, fenchon, metilchavikol, anisaldehida, anisatacid, kamfen) and fatty oils.
